Welcome to Cassandra Crossing

How we became known as Cassandra Crossing is a simple and heartwarming story.  Sit back and I'll tell it to you.

Once upon a time in a land known as the Food Network Message Boards (yes, they're not a myth, they did used to exist.  Some say we're responsible for their demise, but that's crazy talk.  Anyway...) there lived a group of people who were... gasp... foodies.  They liked food.  They liked good food.  They weren't above culinary shortcuts, but for the most part, they were the type of people who made cake from scratch and who reveled in the taste of homemade buttercream vs canned frosting.

Along came Sandra Lee, the culinary anti-Christ.  And Rachael Ray began screeching, flailing, and making burgers out of everything including linen and diapers instead of calmly showing us quick and easy recipes with good ingredients.  And we started to speak the truth about these charletans of the kitchen.  We started to speak the truth about the future of the Food Network.  We started to predict great evil would come (and lo and behold, years later, we were saddled with the likes of Robin Miller and Ingrid Hoffman.)  But would people listen?  No.  No, they wouldn't.  Like Cassandra from Greek mythology, we predicted the truth, but none would believe us.  We started our own message board, because we were unfairly persecuted at the Food Network Forums.  Plus, since we could see the future, we knew those boards would eventually blow up and close down.  First, we were the Anti-Board, because we were simply antis.  Then, we adopted the Cassandra moniker and became the Cassandra Crossing proboard in August 2004.   We still exist, over 500 members strong.  Then, in May 2008, founder Delirium had a moment of... delirium... and registered the cassandracrossing.net domain and thus, this website was born.  And now she's taking on yet another website, and grateful for the 1 and 1 hosting and web builder, otherwise, she'd never get this done.

So welcome, sit back, enjoy the ride, and visit the Cassandra Crossing Forum.  It's easy to register, read, and post.  And sign our Guest Book so we know you were here.

NOTE:  AT THIS TIME, MEMBERSHIP AT THE CASSANDRA CROSSING MESSAGE BOARD HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.  IF YOU'RE FRIENDS WITH A CURRENT MEMBER, SIMPLY ASK THEM TO PM DEL A REQUEST AND SHE WILL REGISTER YOU.
